Moment of inspiration - The Masks of Martin Margiela and Alexander McQueen according to Ken Okada
For my Spring - Summer 2014 show I had the idea to create masks to dress the faces of my models.
So I was going to make them when I saw the show of Martin Margiela ... Sublime masks have appeared.
The idea is already taken I gave up ... But how fashion minds meet!
Martin Margiela is a stylist that I admire a lot and I find his shows dazzling. He keeps the mystery and it fascinates me ...
Like him, Alexander McQueen had this wonderful idea during his Spring-Summer 2012 show by dressing his models with a mask of lace and sequins.
This year, for the parade AH 14/15 I always wanted to hide part of the faces of the models.
The theme being rain, I opted for "charlottes" style year 50 which hides 3/4 of the portrait.
The previous season, Spring - Summer 2014, the girls were covered with paint, a kind of mask "body" ...
I am very inspired by the Japanese theater "Noh" who uses the masks enormously in his shows.
This accessory has always been essential for me ... It allows to invent a mysterious universe ... The imagination is then at its height.
The attention is focused only on the garment, it creates a real unity within the collection.
