KEN OKADA AND HER BRAND

The story begins when the Japanese Ken Okada graduated from Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo, just like Kenzo Takada and Yohji Yamamoto. It was then in 2001 that her eponymous fashion house "Ken Okada Paris" was born.

In January 2005, his first boutique opened its doors in Paris, on the left bank, in the beautiful Saint-Germain-des-Prés district. This store has now become a unique concept-shop, in the heart of Paris. Her collections have been sold, among others, at Takashimaya NY, Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, Citadium and in beautiful international boutiques - Milan New York, Kuwait, Melbourne, Berlin, Tokyo, etc...

In 2009, the exhibition "The history of the Ken Okada shirt" at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann made the brand realize that it had become the reference for modern shirts. The success is there, the brand conquers emblematic personalities such as Claire Chazal, Chantal Thomass, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Kenzo Takada, Thierry Lhermitte, Patrick Poivre d'Arvor ...

In 2010, she was appointed to create the uniforms for the Galeries Lafayette Haussmann Paris restaurant as well as the costumes for the dancers of the Paris Opera. Prestigious collaborations, from the Hotel Lutétia to the "Rendez-vous Toyota", including Repetto and Radio France, as well as glowing reviews in the press - Elle, L'Officiel, L'Express, Madame Figaro... - have flourished over the years, testifying to the brand's singular character.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2015, Ken Okada took a new step by participating in the 20th edition of the Sapins de Noël des Créateurs alongside the great names of luxury. At the same time, many artistic projects have been realized by the designer, particularly in the film industry, as well as through clips and videos putting in motion her unique and singular creations. It is always with great pleasure that Ken Okada proudly presents his collections each year, placing art at the heart of his creations and his "out of the ordinary" fashion shows: Hotel Lutetia, Hotel du Louvre, Pont des Arts, Place Vendôme, Hotel W Paris - Opéra, Quartier Saint-Germain).

In 2021, the brand celebrates its 20th anniversary. 20 years of hard work and renewed inventiveness, which will be celebrated through an event that reflects the creative achievement of the designer, but also through a new project around "The art of the designer shirt".
